Smokey Bear is our national symbol for wildfire prevention. Created by an Act of Congress (PL 82-359, as amended PL 92-318), the Smokey Bear Licensing Program funds wildfire prevention education. Read more about Smokey Bear at www.symbols.gov.

As licensing agent, The Metis Group promotes opportunities for Smokey Bear product placements, identifies and signs licensees and assists current licensees with program and royalty compliance.

Smokey Bear is going to be joining other PSA icons, including McGruff the Crime Dog, Rosie the Riveter and Vince & Larry (the Crash Test Dummies), for a special appearance on the plaza at The Today Show on the morning of Monday, Feb. 13th. The appearance is in celebration of the Ad Council’s 70th birthday. Look out for him between 7 and 9 a.m. ET on NBC!

Quadra Productions, Inc. (QPI) has been granted use of Smokey Bear images, historic posters and public service advertisements in one or more episodes of "Wheel of Fortune" including reruns in all media, worldwide in perpetuity during its "National Parks, Outdoor Adventures and "'Gone Fishin'" theme weeks (the "Program").
